Should bbs.r show/update forum unread status?

This is a case of: I don't know if bbs.r not showing unread status (compared to the forum) is a good thing or not.
Like... It seems like bbs.r should show unread status. But once you get that, the next logical step is, bbs.r should toggle unread status. But then you get fullsec scams mass marking-as-read, which feels really strange.
bbs.r just showing unread status (i.e. treating it as forum_unread not unread) could work but feels kinda weird -- if I read it it shouldn't be unread, right? But then, NOT showing unread is weird since we know unread is a thing, and again, if I read it, it shouldn't be unread.
BASICALLY, I can't decide if I should file a bug/feature request for bbs.r unread stuff (It was suggested, by me, in a comment here: https://www.hackmud.com/forums/bugs_features_ideas/_idea__add_a_bit_more_data_to_bbs_r_scripted__and_cli__output ; sean asked for new tickets for any stuff not yet implemented. This qualifies, but suddenly I don't know if it's a good idea or not).

what about bbs.r just not toggling the unread status when it is a subscript/scriptor?

Then if I write a cool bbs.r wrapper that has better graphics or something that I like more than the default, it won't update unread status even though I clearly just read stuff. I'd have to go read stuff twice (once in my wrapper, once in bbs.r on the CLI) to mark it as read. Why twice?
